Not everyone
wants to defy the raging torrents of our
rivers or abseil 100's of feet, so when
it comes to entertaining your corporate
clients, something of the luxurious and
cerebral will appeal to men and women alike
– with still a bit of a challenge
for the more physical.
Campaign Trails offers
various ways in which you can pamper your
special clients on the battlefields of KwaZulu-Natal.
All three weekends offer opportunity to
relax together in a convivial atmosphere,
discuss the day's activities and triumphs
forge new friendships and cement old ones.

| Rorke’s
Drift & Isandlwana
For this weekend we use
the world renowned Fugitives' Drift Lodge,
famed for it's story-telling, comfort and
cuisine. The weekend, starting on Friday
lunch time, includes the riveting stories
of Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana, told on
the battle sites, themselves. A walk to
the graves of Melvill and Coghill, overlooking
the point in the Buffalo River where they
nearly drowned, attempting to save the Queen's
Colour. Extra options for the fitter members
of the group is a guided walk down the strenuous
Fugitives' Trail or a horse back ride through
the game reserve surrounding the lodge. |

| San
Rock Art and Spioenkop
This weekend is spent in the shadow of
the awe inspiring Drakensberg Range, and
Three Tree Hill Lodge. The focus is the
Anglo-Boer conflict, and much of the fighting
stormed in the vicinity of the luxurious
little lodge that overlooks the Spioenkop
Nature Reserve. The weekend includes a guided
morning walk to San rock art, an afternoon
inspecting Boer earthworks on nThabaNyama,
and an inspiring talk on the summit of Spioenkop,
one of the bloodiest battlefields of the
war. |
|

| Vaalkranz
and Spioenkop
As the above weekend, this weekend is spent
at Three Tree Hill Lodge. And again, the
focus is the Anglo-Boer conflict, and much
of the fighting stormed in the vicinity
of the luxurious little lodge that overlooks
the Spioenkop Nature Reserve. Well trained
horses take us to the battlefield of Vaalkranz,
we enjoy a sumptuous lunch on the banks
of the Tugela River, while the hardier of
the group enjoy a swim, and a morning is
spent on the summit of Spioenkop, listening
to that harrowing tale of miscommunication,
stubbornness, bravery, futility.
It is fascinating to note that on the slopes
of Spioenkop that four men, later to become
world figures and each oblivious of the
fame that awaited the other, were to brush
shoulders. The four were: Winston Churchill;
Mahatma Ghandi; Louis Botha and Denys Reitz. |
